Fujifilm X100V

The Fujifilm X100V is a compact mirrorless camera with a permanently attached lens. It weighs 478g and measures 128 x 75 x 53mm, small enough to carry on a shoulder or in a modest bag.

The X100V shoots 4K video and records to MPEG-4 or MOV, both widely used formats. At that resolution there is detail to spare for cropping in the edit and for playback on large screens.

The body is weather sealed against dust and moisture, which helps in changeable conditions, though sealing is not waterproofing. GPS is absent, so the camera records no location data of its own.

Photographs and video land on a single SD, SDHC or SDXC card, with support for UHS-I speeds. One slot means no in-camera backup, so for once-only moments, copying files off during the day is the safer habit.

The NP-W126S battery carries a rating of 420 shots per charge. Real endurance depends on how much you use the screen, the flash and video, so treat the figure as a planning guide and pack a spare battery for long days out.

Charging over USB is supported, so you can top the battery up between sessions or during a travel day while travelling light.
