About This LensSigma introduced this 10–18mm design in 2023. It is made for APS-C mirrorless cameras, with separate versions for Canon RF, Fujifilm X, L-Mount and Sony E. Choose the version that matches your camera mount. The very wide view suits interiors, architecture, landscapes and video. Its f/2.8 maximum aperture stays available across the zoom, which is useful in dim rooms and evening streets. The main trade-offs are the short range and lack of built-in stabilization. A standard or telephoto lens adds tighter views.

About the BuildThe Canon RF version weighs 9.5 oz (270 g) and measures 2.44 in (62 mm) long and 2.84 in (72.2 mm) across. Other mounts differ in weight and length. The small body suits walking with an APS-C camera. All four versions use a 67mm front filter thread.

About the OpticsAt 10mm, you can include more of a room or building from one position. How much fits still depends on where you stand. Zooming toward 18mm narrows the view when the widest setting includes too much. Check the frame edges for objects that distract from the subject. The maximum aperture remains f/2.8 throughout the zoom. You can retain that opening as framing changes, although a different part of the scene may need a different exposure. In dim light, it gives more room for a faster shutter speed or lower ISO than a smaller opening. Closest focus is 0.4 ft (11.6 cm) at 10mm, measured from the sensor. Maximum magnification reaches 0.25x at that setting. The minimum distance is longer and magnification is lower at 18mm. The front glass sits much closer than the sensor, so leave room and watch for shadows. Moving close makes a foreground object look prominent against distant scenery. That change of viewpoint creates the perspective. Nearby subjects can still have a soft background, even with a wide lens. Stop down and choose the focus position carefully when detail must stay sharp at several distances.

Features32/100 | |
About the FeaturesThere is no stabilization in the lens. A camera with body stabilization can reduce shake for still subjects. A tripod gives a firm base for long exposures or controlled video work. A moving person still needs enough shutter speed for their movement. All four versions have a rubber seal at the mount to resist dust and splashes around the camera connection. Use cover in persistent rain. Keep the mount clean and dry when changing lenses. The supplied petal hood pushes into place with a spring-and-lever attachment. Fit it securely before carrying the camera or starting a recording.
Weather Sealing ⓘWeather sealing capabilities will give you more confidence when shooting in unfavourable conditions.
Fluorine Coating ⓘCoating to repel water and oil from lens elements. | No |
| Built In Lens Hood | No |

Zoom Lock ⓘZoom lock allows the zoom ring to be locked at the desired focal length | No |
Teleconverter ⓘA teleconverter (extender) is an extra piece of equipment that fits between the lens and the camera body to enhance magnification | No |
| Image Stabilization | No |
Construction54/100 | |
About the ConstructionThe shared design uses four aspherical elements to help correct distortion and spherical aberration, which can bend lines or soften detail. Three FLD elements and one SLD element help reduce coloured fringes along high-contrast edges, such as rooflines against bright sky.
Elements ⓘLens elements refer to individual pieces of glass within the lens. | 13 |
| Groups | 10 |
Aspherical Elements ⓘThe number of aspherical lens elements which can help correct aberrations such as spherical aberration. | 4 |
Bi Aspherical Elements ⓘElements with two non-spherical surfaces | 0 |
Low Dispersion ⓘElements that reduce chromatic aberration | 4 |
Super Low Dispersion ⓘAdvanced elements further reducing chromatic aberration | 0 |
CA Reduction ⓘBuilt-in features to reduce chromatic aberration | 0 |
Internal Focusing ⓘInternal Focusing means that the lens does not change in size during focusing, and the front element does not rotate.
