What We Like
+Affordable budget-friendly price at $169 with unique tilt functionality
+Versatile dual-purpose lens - functions as standard 35mm f/1.4 when tilt is disengaged
+Excellent build quality with all-metal construction and smooth mechanical controls
+Strong sunstar rendering from f/5.6 onward with distinctive 10-ray stars
+Creative depth-of-field control enables miniature effect and selective focus techniques
+Compact and lightweight design ideal for mirrorless systems
Worth Knowing
Soft image quality and lack of contrast wide-open (f/1.4), especially in tilt mode
Noticeable focus shift and spherical aberration requiring stopping down to f/2 for improvement
Chromatic aberration visible at wide apertures, requiring f/5.6 for complete elimination
Strong focus breathing and inaccurate infinity focus mark problematic for video and precision work

Read our notes on general
The TTArtisan 35mm f/1.4 Tilt is an APS-C equivalent tilt lens offered at a budget-friendly price in May 2025. This fully manual lens is built entirely of metal and offers the front lens group to tilt up to 8° left or right, enabling control over the direction of the focus plane for more flexible composition. As a plain f/1.4 lens it is average, but as a tilt lens it offers excellent value for money. The lens exhibits focus shift and spherical aberration, with most of the spherical aberration clearing up by f/2.
