Composition and review run through a 3.2-inch TFT LCD with 2.36 million dots. It works as a touchscreen and flips away from the body, so low and high camera angles are practical and settings can be tapped directly.

The camera is weather sealed against dust and moisture, which suits outdoor work in difficult conditions. GPS is built in for recording shooting locations, useful for landscape and travel records.

There is no built-in flash, but an external flash can be fitted, so you can add light when the scene needs it.

Two card slots accept SD, SDHC and SDXC media with UHS-I compatibility. A second slot lets the camera hold two cards at once, which reduces card changes on storage-heavy shoots, and UHS-I support spans the accepted types.

The 3400 mAh lithium-ion battery carries a rating of 300 shots per charge. No test standard or viewfinder mode accompanies that figure, so treat 300 as a planning number rather than a promise, and pack a spare for longer shoots.

The battery cannot be charged over USB, so laptop or power-bank top-ups are not available. Plan to charge the battery in advance rather than relying on USB in the field.
