Worth Knowing
Non-stacked sensor limits burst rate to 30 fps versus S1 II's 70 fps and reduces high-frame-rate video potential
Color science requires manual LUT application for some users to achieve preferred skin tones compared to competitors like Nikon Z6 III
Urban Sports autofocus mode effectiveness unclear with limited guidance on compatible sports beyond breakdancing
Lacks S1 II's Dynamic Range Boost feature for video and 5.1K open gate 60p option

Read our notes on general
The Panasonic Lumix S1 IIE is a hybrid photo and video camera that provides 24 megapixel photos and up to 6K video, positioned as the third-tier model in Panasonic's full-frame mirrorless range. Handling is superb, build quality is excellent and performance is pretty epic in terms of autofocus, image stabilization and image quality. It lacks the partially stacked image sensor of the S1 II, so it has a slower maximum burst rate and less high-frame-rate video potential, but should still prove more than capable enough for most users with a 20 percent drop in purchase price.
